Nursery admissions to begin from March 3

GGSIU online admission process commences for session 2018-19

NEW DELHI: Admission to entry classes (Nursery, KG and Class 1) in government schools in the city will begin on 3 March 2018. For the academic session 2018-2019, the registrati­on process for admission to Sarvodaya Vidyalayas will continue until 17 March 2018. In the presence of parents, the selection of the students will be done by draw of lots on 22 March.

While schools will come up with the final selection list on the next day, the admission will be done from 24-28 March 2018 and on 31 March-2 April for waitlisted students. Classes will commence from 2 April. For nursery class, children must have completed 3 years of age; it is 4 years and 5 years for KG and Class 1, respective­ly (as on 31 March 2018). Further, the age relaxation of up to 30 days may be granted at the level of Heads of Schools in the maximum as well as the minimum age for Classes Nursery, KG and Class-i.

In case of selected children, the immunizati­on certificat­e is to be submitted by the parents/guardians within 6-months from the date of admission,' reads the official circular released by Directorat­e of Education, Delhi. 15 per cent of the seats are reserved for SC candidates, 7.5 per cent for ST candidates and 3 per cent for differentl­y-abled candidates. In case of non-availabili­ty of candidates in the reserved categories, the vacant seats will be given to the unreserved candidates as per the order of name in the waiting list.

Currently, 156 out of 442 Sarvodaya Vidyalayas in the city offer nursery classes. NEW DELHI: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprast­ha University has started the online admission process for the new academic session 2018-19 for around 33 thousand seats and for 11 university schools, 116 affiliated colleges. GGSIU said in a statement that from this year, a new academic programme, BA ( Hons) in English, has been introduced in affiliated colleges of the university. At present, the University has notified 48 combined academic programmes. The statement further reads that admission in these programmes will be made on the basis of Common Entrance Tests (CETS) conducted by the University. The University also notified 7 Medical programmes.

Admission to these programmes will be made on the basis of National Eligibilit­y -Cum- Entrance Test (NEET 2018) or other related exams. However, candidates seeking admission to these programmes will have to register themselves in the admission form available on the University website. There is no CET for following programmes: MBA( Weekend), LLM( Weekend), M Tech ( Bio Technology), M Tech( CSE) Weekend and M Tech( ECE) Weekend, statement said.
