- OUR CORRESPONDENT

GURUGRAM: A day after massive traffic jam was reported at Sirhaul border owing to change in entry and exit points for the vehicles, Gurugram's top cop Sandeep Khirwar visited the area.

The Gurugram police commissioner along with other senior police officials took a stock of the situation and held consultation with various officials, in-charge of managing the situation. This is an effort to streamline traffic movement at Sirhaul, the first point at Delhigurugram border at National Highway-8. The Gurugram police have planned demarcation of entries and exits. Under this initiative for the traffic coming from IFFCO Chowk there is only one point of exit now that is created while the second and third turns will now be the entry points.

It will be a bit of hassle for the commuters who wish to go to Delhi, Udyog Vihar and Ambience Mall as they would have to take the exit immediately from the first turn of the flyover. The next exit for these commuters will be around 3 kms from Kapashera exit.

Guidelines have also been set for the commercial vehicles which will be allowed first exit point of the Shankar Chowk flyover. There have been no change in the exit points for the commuters coming from Udyog Vihar and they have also been provided the first turn from the Shankar Chowk flyover as a point of exit. NEW DELHI: The body of a 10-year-old boy was found in Gazipur canal on Tuesday afternoon. The locals called up the police after a passerby spotted the hand of the boy in the canal. The fence along the canal was found to be broken. It is still unclear how the boy reached there and if there was some foul play or it is a case of accidental drowning.

The police receieved a call in the afternoon that a minor boy has drowned in Gazipur canal in East Delhi. Soon fire brigade and police team rushed to the spot. After about half an hour, the boy's body was fished out of the canal.

“The boy was a resident of Khoda Colony. He was idnetified and we are further investigating the case,” said a senior police officer. The cops have sent the body for postmortem and awaiting the report. Since the child is just 10-year-old, the cops are also investigating if he has come to the canal alone or if there is some foul play in the drowning.
