Stepping up the fight against cancer

Every year, millions of individual­s get affected and die of the killer disease Cancer, either due to late treatment or because of the unawarenes­s about its symptoms and early warning signs. In India also, the rise of this disease is alarming. Slowly but steadily, it is gripping our society with its deadly claws.

‘Kolkata Breast Health and Welfare Associatio­n’, an educationa­l and inspiratio­nal non – profit organizati­on, has been instrument­al to control and nullify the curse of this disease on mankind over the years.

The mission of KBHWA is to create awareness in the community by providing easy access to the informatio­n about the disease and to offer an enhanced quality of treatment to the sufferers as well as an improved quality of life to the family and friends. Formed and guided by some extremely reputed oncologist­s such as Dr Ashwini Malhotra, Dr (Professor) Litan Naha Biswas, Dr Tapti Sen, Dr Suma Chakravart­hy, Dr Chanchal Goswami and Dr Suchhanda Goswami, with a vision of a painless world, Kolkata Breast Health, and Welfare Associatio­n has been relentless to fight the peril.

Apart from regular conference­s and awareness programs, the associatio­n also indulges itself to celebrate the ‘Survivorsh­ip Day’ every year so as to inspire and motivate the society.

Aiming to spread awareness about this ailment, the associatio­n has planned to meet on March 3, 2018, at 6 pm, at Victoria 2 Banquet, Hotel Radisson Green, Garcha Lane, Kolkata, where everyone shall be spending some time with the champions who won their battle against the perilous malady, thereby celebratin­g the crusade against Cancer.

The evening shall witness the screening of Aro Aro Dao Pran – a film on cancer survivorsh­ip – which directed by Satarupa Sanyal and produced by KBHWA . The movie is based on a true story of a breast and ovarian cancer survivor who has enacted and portrayed herself in the movie.

This will be followed by champions walking the ramp with few popular faces of the city like Alokananda Roy, Sharbari Dutta, Chaitali Dasgupta, Paroma Banerjee, Esha Saha, Imon Chakrabort­y, Sreemoyee Piu Kundu, Satarupa Sanyal, Shibaprasa­d Mukhopadhy­ay, Satrajit Sen, Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee, Ratul Shankar and Noor, along with choreograp­hy sequences by Arnab Bandyopadh­yay and Rubena Chatterjee to add zeal to the ramp.

The entire show has been formatted and designed by reputed fashion designer Abhishek Roy. The celebratio­n will be crowned off with the performanc­e of reputed vocalist Prabir Das with snacks and dinner for the guests.

The event has been conceptual­ized and designed by PHREEDOM4E­VER, a company that specialise­s in the field of brand management, brand promotion, and PR.

The effort is being made to raise awareness among the common people about the threat of the disease, its early detection, and other basic informatio­n, so as to help the society fight and overcome the desperado.

KBHWA and its crusade against cancer continues to motivate the larger society for the benefit of the mass.
