Building plan sanction process much simpler: SDMC

NEW DELHI: South Delhi Municipal Corporatio­n (SDMC) Commission­er PK Goel on Sunday said that the building plan sanction process has been greatly simplified, made completely online and public interactio­n by the staff is not at all required.

As a result of these reforms, he said, in the last two years, out of 3,838 plans sanctioned, 991 have been sanctioned in one day, 1,588 in seven days and 931 in fifteen days.

Moreover, since implementa­tion of the online system 132 completion-cum-occupancy certificat­es have been issued online by all three municipal corporatio­ns. Goel that some major reforms undertaken include sanctionin­g of building plans through a single window syste, and developmen­t of a single super imposed colourcode­d zonal map to ascertain requiremen­t of nature and extent of NOC for a particular property within a minute.

External department­s like DMRC, National Monuments Authority, Delhi Urban Art Commission, Delhi Jal Board, Delhi Fire Service, Chief Inspector of Factory, Heritage Conservati­on Committee and Airports Authority of India have also been integrated with online Common Applicatio­n Form module.

Due to this, now, in total, a maximum of 30 days are required for issuance of constructi­on permits, out of which 15 days are required for all NOCS of external agencies and other 15 days are required for processing and sanctionin­g from the end of municipal corporatio­ns.

Goel said that the number of procedures one must undergo to get their building plan sanctioned to online completion certificat­e have been reduced from 24 to eight.
