Pub owner accidently shoots himself, dies

NEW DELHI: A pub owner died on Wednesday night after he accidently shot himself with a pistol that he held on to his head. The incident was reported from Shalimar Bagh in North West Delhi. It is said that 35-year-old Nasir, who was the co-owner of the pub, took out a pistol and accidently shot himself in the head.

According to the police, the cops received informatio­n about the shooting at Shalimar Bagh's DT city centre mall at 11:45 pm on Wednesday night. Local police reached the spot and found one deceased person who was identified as Nasir having a gunshot injury in his head at Onn lounge and bar, in City centre mall. According to one eyewitness, the deceased was partying along with three friends in the lounge when the incident took place.

Police said that Nasir was partying with his three friends when he brought out a pistol and placed it close to his head. It was then he accidently shot himself. Police said that the CCTV footage of the incident corroborat­ed the version of the eyewitness. The video shows Nasir holding the pistol in his hand and bringing it close to his head. Suddenly a shot is heard and some smoke is seen while his friends are seen jumping in horror. Nasir is seen collapsing on the floor after the firing as his friends panic and run from the spot.

“A case under section 25, 27 arms act has been registered at Shalimar Bagh,” said DCP, North West, Aslam Khan.

The cops are now investigat­ing where the pistol was procured from. The police are also questionin­g his friends and others present in the party to understand the exact sequence of events. NOIDA: The infuriated family members of the class 9 girl student, who allegedly hanged herself, along with several other parents of Ahlcon public school, on Thursday morning, staged a protest by blocking the Noida-delhi main road demanding immediate arrest of the two accused teachers and school principal.

The 15-year-old girl student of Ahlcon Public School allegedly committed suicide allegedly owing to sexual and mental harassment from teachers. Parents have alleged that one of the teachers had sexually harassed her, while the other teacher is alleged to have demotivate­d her and both these teachers deliberate­ly gave the kid low marks in her final examinatio­ns. The principal of the school is accused for repeatedly ignoring their plaints.

On Thursday morning, the victim's parents along with several other people reached the Ahlcon public school in Mayur Vihar Phase-i of Delhi and raised slogan against the school administra­tion but soon after they realized that sitting at the main gate of school will not make any difference for them and their word will be left unheard, they went on the Noida-delhi main road and sat in the middle of the channel near Mayur Vihar Phase-1 metro station between Akshardham temple and UP gate.

A massive traffic snarl for over 10 kms was witnessed due this and the traffic movement was thrown out of gear for more than five hours. NEW DELHI: A gang of five persons who used to steal vehicles and then modify them for sale at OLX was arrested from South East Delhi, police said on Thursday. The police claimed that the gang used to make forged documents of the motorcycle­s.

The accused were identified as Vinay Kumar (32), Shahzed Alam (27), Umesh Kumar (27), Rakib (30) and Sakib Khan (26). DCP (South East) Chinmoy Biswal stated that two persons ( Rakib and Umesh) were nabbed during police patrolling from Zakir Nagar area with the stolen bikes and from their instance other gang members were arrested.

DCP Biswal added that after sustained interrogat­ion, it revealed that accused Rakib along with his associate Shakib wanted to open a motorcycle showroom at their native place in Hasanpur. They both hired Umesh and his other associate Vinay to steal motor-cycles, especially Royal Enfield bikes for them and were paid Rs 5,000 to Rs 15,000 as per the condition and model of the bike. “Shahzeb used to prepare fake documents for Rs 3,000 for each document,” said the DCP.

The police further claimed that after preparing fake doc- uments, the accused used to make amendments with body color, graphics, seat cover of the bike through local mechanics and advertise the bike for sale on online portal OLX. The accused had already sold four bullet motorcycle­s for Rs 90,000, Rs 1,05,000, Rs 1,10,000 and Rs 1,15,000 to bonafide purchasers on OLX. After selling the bike on OLX, the accused used to shut down their OLX account and would open a new.
