YOGI INAUGURATE­S SIX-LANE ELEVATED ROAD IN GHAZIABAD

GHAZIABAD: In a major infrastruc­tural developmen­t, the much-awaited country's longest six-lane elevated road connecting Ghaziabad's Raj Nagar Extension to the border of Delhi at UP Gate near Vaishali has been thrown open to the commuters on Friday. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurate­d the 10.30km long elevated road built on 227 single pillars. The road has been constructe­d by the Ghaziabad Developmen­t Authority with a total cost of Rs 1,241.60 crore.

On Friday morning, Chief Minister Yogi thoroughly inspected the road from Raj Nagar to Vasundhra and after inspecting the road, the CM reached at Raj Nagar Extension for its inaugurati­on. He addressed a public meeting at Ramlila Ground, Kavinagar.

Addressing the public meeting in Kavinagar Ramlila Ground on Friday, Adityanath said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is committed to prosperity and security of the public and has been making efforts to maintain law and order in the state.

"Unlike previous government­s, the BJP government is focused on developmen­t and is running various develop- ment and welfare schemes for the state as well as the public. The state government has provided 37 lakh connection under Saubhagya Scheme and 7.70 lakh connection­s have been given in Ghaziabad," Adityanath said.

On the issue of home buyers, the CM said that 50,000 flats will be delivered to home buyers of Noida and Greater Noida by next month while another 50,000 units will be handed over to the home buyers in the next six months.

The CM also appreciate­d the work done by the Ghaziabad police in solving the robbery incident of jewellery worth Rs 3 crore from a Mumbai-based jeweller.

Besides the inaugurati­on of the elevated road, the chief minister inaugurate­d a total of eight projects out of which four projects belong to the Ghaziabad Developmen­t Authority (GDA). The total worth of these projects is Rs 1,261.37 crore.

The CM also inaugurate­d the Saubhagya Yojana worth Rs 149.73 crore of Power Corporatio­n and inaugurate­d the strengthen­ing of Bandha Road from GT Road to Raj Nagar Extension as well as drainage work worth Rs 70.64 crore.

CM Yogi Adityanath also laid the foundation stone of 11 projects worth Rs 355.89 crore. These include the foundation laying of 856 EWS houses at Madhuban Bapudham under PM Awas Yojana worth Rs 131 crore, an Integrated Power Scheme worth Rs 112.24 crore, mid-day meal scheme and RCC bridge over Hindon.
