Vicious pit bull attacks 12-yrold boy in Uttam Nagar

NEW DELHI: A pit bull dog viciously attacked a 12-yearold boy and injured three other people in Uttam Nagar area of west Delhi.

Delhi Police on Monday said that the incident occurred around 4 pm on March 28 and was completely recorded on a CCTV camera installed in the locality.

The CCTV footage showed the pit bull ferociousl­y attacking a group of boys and later zeroing down on one of them.

The boy is seen trying to save himself unsuccessf­ully from the dog. It took some time for the residents to act to save the boy. The clip shows a woman rushing to help the boy and hitting the dog with a stick. Some other men also joined in and tried to pull the dog away by attacking it with a chair.

The footage also shows the dog hurting the woman and later running towards another group of boys behind a car standing nearby.

Two bike-borne men are also seen stopping their vehicle to see the attack, but when the pitbull ran towards them, they sped away. Sources said the boy was immediatel­y taken to the Deen Dayal Upadhaya Hospital and later discahrged after treatment.

The police said that the family of the victim boy did not file a police complaint and the matter was amicably resolved between them and the owners of the dog. Sources said that the pit bull belonged to a local man, identified as Tony, who is lodged in jail presently on charges of dealing drugs.
