SSC paper leak: From owner of exam CENTRE TO COMPUTERS, ALL WERE FIXED

The investigat­ion into the SSC question paper leak case in which four persons were arrested by the Crime Branch on Monday revealed that there were more than 20 candidates who benefited from SSC (Staff Selection Commission) cheating racket. Police sources told the Millen

nium Post that during the investigat­ion, the accused told the police that they helped 25 to 30 candidates where they provided Internet connectivi­ty to the computer, downloaded window sharing applicatio­n, shared the password and helped the applicants in cheating.

Sources further claimed that when asked how many exams they had conducted, they told the investigat­ors that they had conducted four to five examinatio­ns where they manipulate­d with the examinatio­n center.

One of the accused named Dured Ali who owns an examinatio­n lab in Badarpur area charged Rs 20,000 for conducting cheating in the center. "The accused worked in a chain and Rs 20,000 was just another charge as they used to deal in lakhs rupees for the illegal activity,” sources added. A senior police official claimed that they are analyzing the mobile phones of the accused for further clue. “We have identified two labs where cheating was going on and investigat­ion is underway,” said the officer.

Recently, a gang of four persons was arrested. The gang started operating in 2011 and they helped candidates in cheating during the examinatio­n which was manual but with the time the gang found loopholes in online examinatio­n and helped candidates cheat in the SSC online exam by using remote access tool software like Team Viewer.

Police further claimed that it was found that the cheating racket is being run in a very organised manner. It was revealed that the prospectiv­e candidates were lured and amount to the tune of Rs 5-10 lakh was being charged from each of them.
