Sisodia backs demands of DCW Chief Maliwal

NEW DELHI: Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goyel, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Environmen­t Minister Imran Hussain on Tuesday visited DCW Swati Maliwal at Rajghat where she is on a hunger strike for the last five days. The Deputy CM asserted that as soon as the Union Government comes up with the law of fast-track court against child rapists, the Delhi government will ensure the law for the citizens.

Deputy CM Manish Sisodia supported the demands made by Swati Maliwal - Recruitmen­t of 66,000 police personnel in Delhi police, Fast track Courts to ensure trial of child rape cases within 6months, death penalty to the guilty & better forensic labs. He also mentioned that recruitmen­t of 66,000 police personnel will provide employment to the youth as well security to our daughters.

Rajya Sabha MP ND Gupta also reached Rajghat to support DCW chief Swati Maliwal's hunger strike. Representa­tives from many Bar associatio­ns and few medical associatio­ns also reached Samta Sthal and extended their support. Hundreds of students also marched from Jakir Hussain college towards Samta Sthal but many students were stopped by police at Turkman Gate. Nirbhaya's mother also again came to meet DCW chief and promised to fight together for justice of country's thousands of Nirbhayas. "This is not a stage of any particular party. People from all parties are welcomed so that together we can ensure the safety of our daughters. DCW chief also appealed to people who were feeling very emotional after seeing her today that please don't make me feel weak. Many daughters die in our country what is different if one more daughter dies?" said Maliwal.

In her address, she expressed her pain which she experience­d in tenure as DCW chief because of so many child rape cases on a daily basis.
