Woman raped by three in Indirapura­m

GHAZIABAD: A 32-yearold woman has accused three men of raping her at a flat after offering her a spiked drink in Indirapura­m area of Ghaziabad, police said on Tuesday. The police have arrested two accused in the case after registerin­g an FIR against them.

According to the police, the woman alleged that three men identified as Abhishek, Sunil and an unidentifi­ed person first called her at a flat which she wanted to take on rent and offered her a drink laced with sedative. After consuming the drink, the lady fell unconsciou­s and the three men raped her.

The victim has also alleged a UP police constable, an accused among the three, to have raped her. However the police are yet to ascertain his involvemen­t in the case.

“The incident took place on Saturday. However, the FIR was registered on Monday when the accused persons blackmaile­d her on the pretext of the video which they shot while raping her. She also told the police that a police dress was lying in the room and the accused said that it belonged to one of them and he is a constable with Ghaziabad police,” said Dharmendra Chauhan, circle officer, Indirapura­m, Ghaziabad.

“The victim told us that she knew something wrong has happened with her on Saturday and on Monday she received a call from Sunil who called her at the same flat and threatened her to post the video on social websites if she told about the incident to anyone. The three accused then took turns to rape her after she reached the flat on Monday. The woman was dropped at her place at around 9:30 pm after which she came to Indirapura­m police station and narrated her ordeal,” added Chauhan. The police have registered an FIR under relevant sections of rape and have formed teams to nab the third accused in the case.

“An FIR under IPC sections 376D (gang rape) and 507 has been registered in the case. Teams have been formed to nab the third accused. The woman has been sent to record her statement under section 164 IPC and further investigat­ions are underway” added Chauhan. GREATER NOIDA: Following the gang rape of a class 11 girl student of a private school in Greater Noida, the Gautam Buddh Nagar police has apprehende­d a juvenile accused, who was among the three named in the FIR, police said on Tuesday.

According to the police, the accused is one of the prime suspects in the case and is victim's class mate. He allegedly picked up the girl in a car in order to drop her home after she missed her school bus.

“Based on the complaint registered, we have detained five persons including the prime suspect in the case for questionin­g. The other two accused in the case are on run and teams have been formed to nab them,” said Ram Bhawan Singh, station house officer, Greater Noida police station.

Sources claimed that the allegation­s made by the girls are being verified as they have been found to be dicey.

“She has given different statements to the doctor, to the magistrate and to the police. However, we are still checking the claims made by the girl,” said a senior police officer.

According to the police, the girl, a student of 11 standard, has mentioned in her complaint that the incident took place on April 18, when she was walking back home from her school.

The incident came to fore just two days after the Union Cabinet approved the amendment in POCSO Act, putting a stamp on awarding death penalty to the rapists of children below 12 years of age. GHAZIABAD: An 88-yearold woman accidental­ly fell to her death from a window of an 11th floor flat in Ashiana Upvan society in Indirapura­m on Monday morning.

According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Devki Devi whose body was found near tower 2 of the society in a pool of blood by society residents who were out for a morning walk. Her son Pooran Mehra, daughter-inlaw, grandson and grandaught­er-in-law were present in the at the time of the incident.

Police said that the family stated that the deceased was senile and had shown many symptoms including forgetfuln­ess, confusion among others. She was also undergoing treatment for her illness. The police are considerin­g it as a case of accident. NEW DELHI: A 59-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her brother in West Delhi's Vikaspuri area on Tuesday. Police claimed that the reason behind the incident was that the deceased opposed her brother's drug addiction which turned into a scuffle resulted in the murder. According to the police, the incident came to light after they received a PCR call at 11:15 am on Tuesday. Immediatel­y, local police rushed to the spot and found the injure lying in a pool of blood. The injured, Ashwani, was shifted to Mata Chanan Devi Hospital, Janakpuri, where she was declared brought dead by the doctors.

Deputy Commission­er of Police (West) Vijay Kumar claimed that the statement of eyewitness named Kanta (victim's mother) was recorded in which she stated that deceased was stabbed by her younger brother identified as Latinder. "On her statement, a case under sections 302/324 IPC was registered. Accused Latinder was arrested," said the DCP adding that investigat­ion into the case is in progress. When asked the reason behind the murder, a senior police officer stated that the accused is a drug addict. His sister used to question him about his bad habits.

"On Monday, the 33-yearold accused asked for money which resulted in an argument. The accused picked up the kitchen knife and stabbed her twice," said the police officer.

This is not the first case where the accused is a relative of the deceased. On Monday, a 38-year-old woman was bludgeoned to death allegedly by her husband in the presence of their children on Monday morning in outer Delhi's Mangolpuri.
