Days after lover’s suicide, 18-yr-old kills self in Rohini

NEW DELHI: An eighteenand-a-half-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in Bakhtawarpur area of Rohini on Sunday, Delhi Police said.

A suicide note was recovered from the spot, which is being investigated by police, though they refused to reveal the contents of the note.

The woman was found hanging on Sunday inside her house by her family members, who immediately called the police.

Cops are investigating the case from all angles, including the love angle, as there are reports that a 24-year-old man with whom she was reportedly in love had recently killed himself, sending the girl into shock and possibly to kill herself.

The investigation is also being undertaken from the angle of depression, as the woman had attempted suicide on a previous occasion.

“She has left a suicide note in which she said that no one was responsible for her death and it was her decision to kill herself,” said a police officer privy to the investigation.

Later in the day, the victim’s body was taken to a local mortuary, where doctors stated that the death was due to hanging.

Police, so far, do not suspect any other reasons for her death due to a lack of external injuries inflicted on her body.

The woman had tried to slit her throat with a blade on the day the man killed himself, but she was saved.

Police have stepped up security in the area to ensure that both the families do not get into any tiff.
