70-year-old Japanese national found dead in South Delhi

NEW DELHI: A 70-year-old Japanese national was found dead in his residence in South Delhi's Defence Colony area on Tuesday. Police claimed that they suspect that the death occurred due to medical condition but they are waiting for the postmortem report. According to the police, the incident came to light on Tuesday after they received an informatio­n at 08.55 am stating that one person is not opening the door of his room.

"On reaching the spot and by looking inside the room through the window of the room, it was found that the person was lying on the floor of the washroom," said a senior police officer.

Deputy Commission­er of Police (South) Romil Baan- iya stated that the door of the room was broken and the person named Yoichi Nishimura, a Japanese national, was found lying on the floor of the washroom in an unconsciou­s condition.

He further added that the deceased worked as an engineerin­g consultant for Nippon company. A crime branch police team was called at the spot and photograph­s of the crime scene was taken. The informatio­n regarding the same has been given to CFSL.

The police claimed that he was suffering from diarrhea for a few days and was on medication. Apparently, the death seems due to the medical condition. "Autopsy result will throw some more light on his medical condition. There is no external injury on his body," said the DCP.
