NDMC’S ‘Rozgaar Mela’ sees participation of over 80 companies
NEW DELHI: New Delhi MP Meenakshi on Saturday inaugurated the ‘Rozgaar Mela’ (job fair) organised by New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) at Mandir Marg here.
As many as 80 companies, including prominent healthcare institutions such as Apollo Pharmacy, Bharti Eye, Health Care at Home, Max Hospital, as well as restaurant chain Barbeque Nation set up their stalls at the fair offering jobs to passout trainees of NDMC’S Skill Development Centre.
Over 1,500 candidates from Women Technical Institute at Netaji Nagar and 500 at Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Ken- dra, Mandir Marg, registered themselves for placements.
Lekhi directed the Council to maintain a data bank of ‘skilled manned power’ in New Delhi area and to set-up a ‘Skill Certification Centre’ in its area.
“It will not only help provide opportunities to extend insurance benefits to beneficiaries, but also to collect appropriate information with respect to skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled workers in the New Delhi area, which could further be taken care of them,” said Lekhi.
She further said that the seed of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Kendra, which was sown six months ago at Mandir Marg, has started reaping fruit.
The Bharatiya Janata Party MP also kicked off NDMC’S ‘Under 10 Girls Football Academy’ on Saturday.
She said that the Council’s ambitious initiative to constitute the academy for 90 girls would pave the way for budding girl footballers to improve their skills and develop interest in football.
