Gurugram girl tops ICSE Class XII exams in NCR
GURUGRAM: The Indian Council of Certificate Examinations (ICSE) on Monday declared its Class X and Class XII results. Having maintained a consistent trend, the students from Gurugram again bagged the top position.
With 99.25 per cent, Antra Kapoor became the topper from the National Capital Region (NCR) in Class XII. She is also the second all India topper. Not far behind were Tanushree Pendharkar and Sanjana Hira who achieved all India second rank jointly. The third position was obtained by Kushank Tyagi from Meerut.
There was also more happiness in store for students from Class X with Jeevanh Kakkar being the NCR topper. Jeevansh scored cent percent marks in Maths, Social Studies and Music.
With the best in four subjects, he scored 98.8 per cent overall. Jeevansh was followed by Manvi Kumar and Nishka Arora respectively.
Around 81,000 students appeared for ISCE exams and around 1.84 lakh students took the Class X ICSE board exams. ICSE board exams were conducted between February 26 and April 12, and ISCE board examinations from February 7 to April 4.
While 49 students got more than 99 per cent in classXII examination, 15 students scored more than 99 per cent in Class X examinations.
In Class XII, the top score was 99.5 per cent bagged by seven students across the country. The second position was clinched by 99.25 per cent marks and 17 students shared the rank. The third highest was 99 per cent that was bagged by 25 people.
Class XII saw a pass percentage of 96.21 which was a slight dip from the previous year of 96.47 per cent.
The pass percentage of Class X was 98.51. The dominance of girls again prevailed with pass percentage of girls in Class XII standing at 97. 63 while that of the boys being at 94.96.
The figure was, however, neck to neck with class-x with pass percentage of girls being 98.95 per cent and those of the boys being 98.15 per cent.
