Road rage: 18-yr-old thrashed for not giving way
NEW DELHI: An 18-year-old boy was reportedly thrashed by some men in north west Delhi’s Bharat Nagar area, after a fight over giving way to another vehicle.
According to police, the incident took place on May 18 when the complainant, identified as Harshit, told them that he was returning home on his scooty after taking milk at around 8 pm.
When he reached Ravidas Gaali, a car being driven by a woman came near his scooty and stopped.
“After sometimes, another vehicle reached the spot and the road was soon blocked. One of them started turning back the vehicle and I started moving my scooty, when the woman tried to park the vehicle,” the victim told police in his complaint.
Law enforcement officials claimed that when the woman driver was taking a U-turn on the road, the youth’s scooty reportedly came in front of her.
According to the victim’s complaint, the woman then said something offensive to Harshit, which soon led to a fight. Suddenly, a man came from out of nowhere and started beating Harshit up.
This man was soon joined by another unidentified person, who also rained blow and fists on the 18-year-old boy.
Soon, some bystanders saw the commotion and came to Harshit’s rescue. He immediately ran from the spot on his scooty and then informed his relatives, who made a PCR call. Cops said they have registered a case under sections 323, 341 and 34 of IPC in this regard.
