CS assault: Sisodia quizzed for 3 hrs

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Friday questioned Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi for three hours in the case of alleged assault of Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash in February. Reacting to the questionin­g, Manish Sisodia stated that he would continue good work for the developmen­t of Delhi and that he was being framed for the work.

Additional Deputy Commission­er of Police (North) Harendra Singh stated that the questionin­g was video recorded and continued for three hours. Police claimed that several questions were asked regarding the sequence of event happened on the night when CS was allegedly assaulted at Chief Minister's residence.

The investigat­or remained tight-lipped on the facts whether the answers of the questionin­g of Sisodia was same or different from Arvind Kejriwal who was questioned last Friday by the police team. The Deputy CM remained cooperativ­e with the city police.

The whole investigat­ion in the case was headed by Additional DCP Harendra Singh. Reacting on Delhi Police move, Sisodia stated that he was questioned and the environmen­t was good. “It is not the fault of Delhi Police. They are under pressure to implicate us in false cases I will be cooperativ­e in the investigat­ion in future,” said Deputy CM in a statement adding that like other false cases this will also be rejected in court. The statement further read that after the formation of the government, they are fighting against different mafias and stopped corruption in Delhi.

The alleged assault on Chief Secretary happened on February 19 during the meeting at the chief minister's residence. Kejriwal, his former advisor VK Jain and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia were also present there. Several MLAS were questioned in the case in which police arrested two who later got bail. On February 23, a police team had examined the CCTV system installed at the chief minister's residence in the Civil Lines area and seized the hard disk. The forensic report on the hard disk is still awaited.
