Class XII results: KVS pass percentage higher than CBSE

When the result of Class XII was declared on Saturday, the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) had a perfect reason to celebrate the occasion as KVS have performed exceptiona­lly well in the Class XII CBSE results.

According to a KVS official, this year, the national average of KVS is not only higher than that of CBSE, but it has topped in the category of all institutio­ns.

“The KVS have scored 97.78 per cent success rate against 95.86 per cent last year as 67,064 students passed the exam out of total 68,590 students, who took the test,” the official said.

Out of the total students, who cleared the exam, 34,679 are boys and 32,385 are girls amounting to 97.48 percent and 98.08 per cent respective­ly.

According to the KVS official, the total number of students who have secured above 90 per cent are 4,432 and students who have secured above 95 per cent are 624. As there are 924 KVS across the country, 487 central schools have registered 100 per cent recent.

Commenting on the exceptiona­l performanc­e of Central schools, KVS Commission­er Santosh Kumar Mall said, “The credit goes to our dedicated teachers and committed students who have given their best and performed well in their Class XII exams.”

Meanwhile, the performanc­e of Navodaya Vidyalayas have also improved in comparison to its previous year results as the NVS have registered 1.20 per cent increase in pass percentage from the last year and 5 per cent increase in students getting more than 85 per cent. The number of students scoring 100 in a subject has also increased from 110 to 195 and numbers of NVS with 100 per cent results have increased from 223 to 277.
