Mangled Harley Davidson bike, Etios car on DND flyover leave cops clueless

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Sunday said they are trying to reconstruc­t the sequence event of an accident involving a Harley-davidson bike and a Toyota Etios car in south east Delhi’s DND flyover.

Cops suspect that the biker may have fallen into Yamuna river and a search operation is on for over 12 hours.

Deputy Commission­er of Police (South East) Chinmoy Biswal stated that on Sunday, around 3 am, informatio­n about an accident at DND flyway was received at Sunlight Colony police station.

A police team rushed to the spot on the Yamuna bridge from Noida to Delhi. There, they found the Harley Davidson bike having a Delhi number plate and Toyota Etios car.

“So far, neither the motorcycle rider nor the driver of the car has been traced. No informatio­n about the injured has been received from any hospital,” said the DCP.

He added that a search with the help of local divers and a team of NDRF has been launched in the Yamuna river but no clues have been found.

The DCP also said that one Anshuman Puri, a resident of Sarita Vihar, is the registered owner of the bike, but his house was found to be locked. His neighbours told that he used to live alone.

Meanwhile, Bhappa Singh, a resident of Goyala Dairy, is the registered owner of the car. His house too was also found locked and neighbours saod that he is living in Canada and his daughter, and son-in-law used to drive the car.

Cops suspect that the man who was riding the bike fell into the Yamuna river. However, they have not been able to fish out the body till the filing of this report. After inspecting the accident spot, we believe that the occupants of the car must have sustained serious injuries. They are looking around at hospitals to trace them.

According to a senior police officer, the impact of the collision between the high-end bike and the Etios car was such that both the vehicles were found to be in a mangled condition. Police have registered a case and are scanning CCTV footage installed near the flyover. NEW DELHI: Two girls were found dead near the railway tracks of Tughlakaba­d in south east Delhi, suspected to be mowed down by a train, on Sunday evening.

Sources in Delhi Police suspect the death of the girls, who were cousins, to be a suicide pact, as a suicide note was recovered from the spot. However, cops said they are investigat­ing the case from all angles.

Police said that the incident came to light around 6 pm on Sunday, when a PCR call was received about the body of two girls found lying near the railway tracks on Tughlakaba­d railway station.

Immediatel­y, a police team they rushed to the spot and rushed the girls to a nearby hospital, where both the girls were declared brought dead.

During inspection of hte spot, the police team found a bag containing the alleged note, with ‘sorry father’ written.

Police claimed that they found that the mother of one of the girls had passed away a few years ago and left the young girl depressed.

When asked whether the Class XII exam result could be a cause for the incident, DCP Perwez Ahmed denied the possibilit­y.

“We are verifying their age and the probe is going on from all angles. No headphone was found from the spot,” said the DCP. Police are scanning the CCTV footage of the area.
