Telangana CM wants state healthcare system to become role model for India
HYDERABAD: In a significant drive to empower citizens with convenient access to healthcare, the Telangana government since inception in 2014 has launched several world-class programmes and healthcare measures. It has also strengthened the public health care system and hospitals in a big way.
Chief Minister of Telangana K. Chandrashekhar Rao wants the state to become a role model in public health in the country. It has ushered a paradigm shift in the healthcare by making facilities more accessible, with benefits reaching the BPL families and lower income group people. The government has also introduced digital solutions to stop corruption and malpractices in public life.
The state government has established healthcare centers comprising of Primary Health Centers, Community Health Centers, Area Hospitals, District Hospitals and Specialized Centers in the Cities which are all listed digitally and networked for optimum service to poor. ‘Providing healthcare is the committed endeavour of Telangana government, particularly the BPL, low income groups and in remote areas ‘says Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri K.chandrashekhar Rao.
Mostly prominent is issue of health cards for suffering sections of society – government employees, pensioners, journalists etc covering over 900 diseases providing cash free treatment in government hospitals.
So for 11,35,702 health card issued Govt., has decided to set up wellness centers in 14 Super specially Hospitals.
The government has earmarked Rs 7,375.20 crore in the 2018-19 budget to provide better medical services and amenities, in existing government hospitals. Similarly, during 2014-15, Rs 4,062 crores, during 2015-16 Rs 5,024 crores, during 2016-17 Rs 5,992 crores and during 2017-18 Rs 5,976 crores were allocated.
Revolutionary reforms were brought in the maintenance of Government hospitals. Towards maintenance of a single bed in the government hospitals on an average Rs.5016 is being incurred monthly. Daily a different colour bed sheet is being used in the government hospitals to maintain hygiene accordingly 60000 bed sheets were procured in four different colours at a cost of Rs.2.63 crores. In all the 42 area hospitals across the state new mattresses, bed sheets and saline stands were provided.
Telangana government has designed a beautiful health checkup scheme and also promoted diagnostic tests for everyone in every village on a regular basis as prevention is better than cure. It is the agenda of the government to conduct diagnostic tests, steps to spread of the disease and also protect people from acquiring diseases.
The government has decided to organize eye camps all over the state on a large scale and provide free of cost spectacle s to the needy. The Chief Minister of Telangana has suggested that besides the eye specialists in the state if need be, services of eye specialists from other state should be sought in
Government has decided to give Rs 1000 pension per month from this financial year to the patients suffering with lymphatic filariasis (Filaria) benefiting 47,000 people.
KCR Kits Scheme aimed at the wellbeing of mother and child and has been unveiled in Telagnana for poor pregnant women to give nutritious food and to take care of the new born after delivery.
