Cash van robbery in north west Delhi: Two more arrested

NEW DELHI: The Special Cell of Delhi Police on Saturday said it has arrested two criminals who had been at large after looting a cash van in Narela in north west Delhi.

Delhi Police had earlier arrested five accused, namely Bharat Bhushan, Deepak, Vikas, Mahabir and Gursharan in the same case.

The arrests Bharat Bhushan, Vikas and Deepak had led to solving of several cases of armed cash van robberies and murders in Delhi-ncr.

One such case, which took place on April 26, included the robbery of a cash van took near DSIDC Vardhman Mall in Narela.

Three bike-borne criminals had robbed the van, owned by a cash management company, after shooting dead the gunman and cashier of the company.

The employees had come to collect the cash from a wine shop at the mall.

As soon as they collected the cash, three persons came on a motorcycle, indiscrimi­nately fire more than 25 rounds into the two men and fled with cash Rs 12 lakh.

Though most of the accused had been arrested, some others including Neeraj, Suraj and Jitender were still at large.

They all immediatel­y went undergroun­d after the arrest of Bharat Bhushan, Vikas and Deepak.

“Bharat Bhushan, Deepak and Suraj had chased a Sonipatbas­ed father-son duo Hansraj and Varun, who run a shop on Bawana-sonipat Road, and fired at them near their house in Sonipat in August last year. Hansraj had succumbed to his injuries,” said Deputy Commission­er of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Yadav on Saturday.

Twelve other cases of armed robberies and murder and others were worked out.
