NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Saturday said three men involved in over 100 cases of drugging and robbery were arrested on Friday from Yamuna Khadar area.

The arrested accused were identified as Praveen, a 34-year-old resident of Haryana’s Palwal, and Mohammad Alam and Parnav Kumar, both 37 and natives of Bihar. Cops also claimed to have solved an unreported murder, where the accused had killed their associate and robbed him after a dispute.

The arrest was made after a police team received a tip-off that accused would reach ISBT Faridabad Bus Stand on Friday night for robbing a black Chevrolet Beat car.

DCP (North) Jatin Narwal stated that during interrogation, Alam disclosed that due to need of money, the gang used to rob passengers by giving them cold drinks laced with sedatives.

“They committed such crimes regularly from Badarpur, ISBT Kashmeri Gate, Anand Vihar, Dhaula Kuan, Gurugram,” DCP said.

Cops revealed that in April, the accused had a dispute with their associate Raja Kumar over distribution of booty, after which they planned to eliminate him and grab his Innova car.

On May 13, Alam, Parnav Kumar, Mehram Singh and Praveen called Raja Kumar to Palwal on the pretext of a tour to Agra. After he met them, they drove to Palwal canal, and then strangulated Raja Kumar and shot him to death. The accused then threw his body into the canal.
