- DILIN NAIR AKA RAFTAAR - RAPPER AND SINGER

-

Who are your singing role models?

Vishal Dadlani and Yunan.

When did you get your first break?

It was in 2012 after I signed up with Manj Musik. I have done work before that too, but I was never happy with it.

What has inspired you to become an artist?

I was a wannabe and I always thought that I could rhyme after listening to Eminem, Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park), The Game, Lupe Fiasco and Nas. The long tees and tilted snapback got my attention too. I am still a wannabe as I want to be better everyday.

Why did you choose Rapping as your style?

I found Rapping as a medium to tell my story and also express my feelings.

What is your message for the newcomers who aspire to become musicians or rappers?

Be a wannabe and be inspired. Go after your dreams. One day you will be someone that many others will want to aspire for. Be like a mad scientist. Keep experimenting till you find your sound.

Who are your dance role models?

Shane Sparks and Wade Robson. Dance has evolved a lot from when I was into it professionally. Among the new guys, I like Les Twins and Twitch.

If asked about you, what describes you the best?

Hungry.

According to you, which is the most overrated movie?

Deadpool 2, in recent times. I am a BIG BIGGGGG Marvel/dc fan. I watch premiers. The movie didn’t do justice to Deadpool or any character in it. Sadly overrated and disappointing.

If you weren’t an artist , what would you be?

A zombie.
