BURARI: POLICE TRYING TO TRACE REGISTERS OF FIRST TWO MONTHS

- ABHAY SINGH

NEW DELHI: The case of mass deaths in Burari took another twist on Thursday as Delhi Police is trying to find if any registers were written in the first two months of 2018, which are reportedly missing from the house. These documents which could give vital clue, may or may not be written before Badh Tapasya' figured in one of the nine registers and loose sheets found at the spot.

The police claimed that they are also probing whether Lalit (deceased), who claimed that he was possessed by his father's spirit was saying those things under someone's influence. "It is being investigated whether such things were planted in Lalit's mind by someone close to him or he was suffering from a psychological disorder. Till now, we have not found any such evidence which suggests that Lalit was influenced by someone," said an investigator.

The city police is also investigating the places where the family had visited few years ago. The three teams of the Crime Branch led by their respective ACP have questioned more than 150 persons.

Delhi Police has found nine registers and more than 100 loose sheets with which the city police has made two extra registers. "We have not found the register or any loose sheet from January to February 2018. The search is continuing for those documents," said the investigator. The entry is from 10 March 2018 and in the same month, the ritual of "Badh Tapasaya" was found in these pages.

The documents are very much important for the city police as they will throw more light on what drove the family for such rituals. Reports of a bucket filled with clothes lying on the terrace have also emerged but the investigators had denied about the recovery of any such bucket.

The police claimed that they are probing whether any of the deceased had told some other relatives that Lalit sometimes had visitations from his dead father. However, they claimed that they never saw him possessed with his father's influence.
