- OUR CORRESPONDENT

NEW DELHI: Delhi Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam on Thursday assured the pensioners who are not getting their pension due to some technical snag in the NPCI Portal that the problem will soon be sorted out. Gautam was chairing an important meeting on Financial Assistance Scheme matters pertaining to North District office of the Social Welfare department along with the respective MLA'S of the district at Gulabibagh.

On the complaints raised by some MLAS that the beneficiaries are not receiving enhanced pensions, the Minister accepted that the Aadhaar linking with the NPCI portal is causing the problem. “On the basis of KYC norms, bank officials are supposed to confirm the Aadhaar linking. None- theless, at times owing to technical issues with the National Payments Corporation of India portal (NPCI), the linking process stands incomplete due to which enhanced pension disbursement gets stalled. However, to ensure immediate relief, the Minister assured that a solution will be found in the Cabinet soon. “The Department will soon advertise for the MCD camp beneficiaries and the inauguration of helpline no 1031 too would be launched shortly,” said Gautam.

The Social Welfare Department officials presented the constituency-wise break up of the old age pension and handicapped pension in addition to issues pertaining to the release of pension and pending cases. The minister has assured that all possible measures at his department's disposal would be taken to sort out all the grievances at the earliest.
