NEW DELHI: The Special Cell of Delhi Police arrested a former school teacher for supplying illegal ammunitions to Naxals of Garchiroli in Maharastra.

The man identified as Ram Krishna Singh has revealed that he has been involved in arms peddling since 2015. After the school he taught closed down, he came in contact with some arms supplier of Munger (Bihar), who lured him into the nefarious trade.

He used to procure firearms from Munger and supplied them to criminals of Bihar and Western UP. He also used to procure cartridges and supplied them to Naxals active in Garchiroli in Maharastra. “He used to trade in car- tridges of all calibres including prohibited calibre meant for INSAS and Self-loading Rifles. These cartridges were procured from Bhojpur (Bihar). Till date, as per interrogation, he has supplied over 15,000 cartridges to Naxalites in Garchiroli of Maharashtra,” said DCP Special cell PS Kushwah.

Cops sniffed about Ram Krishna's role in arms and ammunition supply after they arrested a man Dhirendra under the Arms Act.

During his interrogation, Dhirender disclosed that he used to supply illegal cartridges to one teacher in Bhojpur and that this teacher used to supply illegal cartridges to Naxals active in the Garhchiroli region.

Dwelling on this information, a Delhi Police team arrested Ram Krishna on 12 July from Shanti Van Ring road and recovered 407 illegal cartridges (60 cartridges of INSAS, 107 cartridges of SLR, 80 cartridges of .315 calibre and 160 cartridges of 7.65 calibres) from his possession.

Ram Krishna Singh has completed B.com and was teaching in a private middle school.

Subsequent to the closure of the school, he started imparting coaching in a private institute, before entering the world of crime.
