Mystery shrouds IAS aspirant’s death in Ggn
Family alleges victim was beaten up by live-in partner who is absconding after the incident
A 23-year-old woman who was preparing for her IAS examination died under mysterious circumstances in Gurugram on Tuesday morning. The deceased who has been identified as Priyanka Mittal was missing from her Delhi PG since Monday evening. The exact cause of her death is still not known, and the police are waiting for the post-mortem report to know the real reason for her death. There is the suspicion that the victim was “beaten mercilessly” by her male friend which eventually led to her death.
On the formal complaint registered by girl’s parents, a case has been registered against her male friend named Ravinder Yadav.

Suspicion has been raised that the victim was “beaten mercilessly” by her male friend eventually leading to her death.

According to the police, the girl was staying with Ravinder in a guesthouse located in Sector-46. The law enforcement official further added that at around 3 am suddenly the condition of the victim deteriorated and she became unconscious. Owing to her worsening condition, she was admitted to a private hospital in Gurugram by her friend where she was declared brought dead.
Owing to the mysteries involved in the case, the district police was immediately contacted and the case was registered at the Sector-46 police station. Amid the development that transpired, Ravinder escaped from the hospital and has been absconding ever since.
The police have launched a search operation against him and are also trying to find his car by which they came from Delhi to Gurugram.
After the investigation, the police have sealed the room where the couple was staying and have begun questioning the staff of the guest house.
The family members of the victim claim that Priyanka and Ravinder knew each other for a long time. They alleged that the victim might have been beaten black and blue as deep scars were found at her back and neck. The family also expressed suspicion that they were staying in a Gurugram guesthouse, saying the victim could have been forced to take such a step.
“As of now, it is too premature for us to divulge the entire detail. We have registered the FIR under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Ravinder and begun our investigations. As of now, Ravinder is at large but we have formed a team to trace him and we will get him soon. We are waiting for the postmortem report to know the real cause of her death,” said a police official from Gurugram police.
