NEW DELHI: Who says life stops at 60? Bandhu Singh has remained quite the playboy even at 63. Singh also managed to carry on a rollicking romance with six women at the same time. But how did the senior citizen manage to cater to his girlfriends’ lavish lifestyles? He resorted to burglaries and house thefts.

The man identified as Bandhu Singh lived in a rented accommodation in Anand Parbat in central Delhi but broke into several houses and factories in North Delhi to keep up his philandering ways.

“This man is a bachelor and had affairs with several women, and to meet their expenses, he started housebreaking and burglary. He has at least 20 theft cases against him, and the interesting part was he operated alone and was not part of any gang,” said Nupur Prasad, DCP North Delhi.

The man came clean on his countless liaisons after he was caught by a team of policemen who were investigating a burglary at a factory in Sarai Rohilla in North Delhi on July 28.

“The CCTV of the factory showed an elderly man walking away with some valuables wrapped up in a bag when the photograph was shown to locals in the area and surveillance mounted, the man was identified as Bandhu,” said a senior police officer.

Later, the police formed teams to locate Bandhu who was a resident of Anand Parbat. Cops took little time to unravel his identity after laying a trap for him. He was arrested on July 29.

“He believed in splurging money and was fascinated by electronic gadgets and cash. We recovered two laptops, one Led Smart TV and some cash from him,” added DCP North Nupur Prasad.

However, when he was interrogated, he told cops about his previous 20 burglaries, at least those he could remember.
