TWO SHOT AT WAZIRPUR FLYOVER

NEW DELHI: Two men working with a private firm have been shot at near Keshapuram in North West Delhi's Wazirpur flyover on Monday afternoon. The unidentifi­ed assailants opened fire after they couldn't trace the bag in the victim's car. Rajkumar and Tejpal, both employees of a private medical firm, were returning from a hospital after collecting cash when they were intercepte­d at around 12:30 pm. “Two employees of firm namely Sanyog Enterprise­s Private Ltd (HQ at Nangloi) were going in an i20 car with Rs 40 lakh cash to be deposited at SBI Bank at Wazirpur. On Wazirpur flyover, the car was hit by a Swift Dezire and when they came out of the car, they were shot at by the assailants in Swift Dezire, who fled from the spot with the cash,” said DCP North West Aslam Khan.

Tejpal is a resident of Mongolpuri and Rajkumar Bhaseen is a resident of Sabzi Mandi area of Delhi. Both are said to have received one shot each. While Rajkumar was hit in the stomach, Tejpal received the bullet injury in his shoulder. Both have been admitted to a private hospital where they are being kept under observatio­n.

Meanwhile, the police have intensifie­d search for the assailants. Cops suspect that there might be an insider's hand who divulged vital details of the cash carried by the two men. Several teams have been formed to identify and arrest the accused. Cops are also suspecting the involvemen­t of a profession­al gang in the incident.
