NDMC organises exhibition to promote art and culture
NEW DELHI: On the eve of 72nd Independence Day, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has organised a group art exhibitions entitled “Triumph of Masterworks : Our National Pride”. And as many as 42 contemporary artists and art students across the country had been participated with their creatives in the exhibitions. The exhibitions aims at promoting art and culture in the open space.
NDMC Chairman Naresh Kumar had inaugurated the exhibition at Janpath Subway in Connaught Place on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman said that the main objective for organising such event was for the wellness of the urban life which had been deteriorating due to prevailing stress in the day- to-day life of the people. The Chairman added that such type of activities would help to bring the art and culture out of the boundaries of art galleries, museums and auditoriums to open public space for the recreation and enjoyment of the common people.
He said that the third group art exhibition of its kind provides an opportu- nity to senior, mid-career and budding talents in this field, who are constantly working on their individualistic style and already making marks in this field contributing legacy to Indian Art scenario organized and curetted by Kishore Labar.
“Triumph of Masterworks : Our National Pride” have presented 42 contemporary artists of India who are effectively exploring various methods, materials and techniques for year after year, producing distinctive artworks and regularly showcasing their experimental outcome in a range of forms like drawing, painting, sculpture, installation and many more.
The exhibition will be open to the general public in two-part –One from July 30 to August 8 and another from August 10 to 27 from 11 am to 8 pm. NOIDA: A 35-year-old lineman employed with the electricity department has died on Monday after he suffered a major electric shock on Sunday morning while working on a high voltage line in Salarpur area of Banghel village in Noida. According to police, the deceased identified as Shiv Kumar was working to fix a connection on a high voltage line on Sunday morning.
"Kumar was working on the high voltage line for which the electricity department has shut the power. However, at around 11:30 am, the power got restored and Kumar received a shock. A PCR call was received and he was taken to hospital where doctors stated his condition as critical. However, he died on Monday receiving treatment," said Uday Pratap Singh, SHO, phase-ii police station, Noida.
