NEW DELHI: On July 27, Rakesh Sen and Pravesh thought that they successfully killed one Kamal after slitting his throat and leaving him unconscious in a park in Dwarka, thinking that he had died. But it was their mistake as the victim somehow reached a nearby coconut seller and made a phone call to one of his relatives. Soon, the police were informed and the accused were arrested from Hazrat Nizamuddin area.

The police claimed that Rakesh Sen was in relation with a woman but he later came to know that Kamal also knew her, which made him jealous. He planned to kill him with his associate Parvesh. He contacted Kamal and invited him to Delhi. On the night of the incident, the two men invited Kamal and gave him heavy drinks and then cut his throat with the paper cutter blade in Dwarka Sec-19. "They thought he died so they took away his mobile and wallet so that his identity cannot be disclosed," said police officer.

DCP (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse stated that the injured reached one coconut seller on the roadside and used his phone to call his relative. A PCR call was made and the victim was shifted to hospital. "He was unable to speak but he wrote his name as Kamal Singh Yadav,''he said. The police traced the phone number and came to know that the victim visited Delhi to meet Rakesh. Accordingly, with the help of technical analysis of the mobile numbers, further information was developed and two suspected mobile numbers were identified. The team analyzed the CDR details of the victim and suspects, which revealed that the victim came to Delhi from Gujarat on July 25 and his continuous location was traced at Amberhai Village, Sec-19 Dwarka.

"It was further found that the victim was in continuous touch with one suspected number after his arrival in Delhi. It was also found that the victim was in touch with a woman who lives in Dwarka,'' said DCP Alphonse.

On examination, she told the cops that injured Kamal was her phone friend and came to meet her. He was residing with Rakesh who was also known to the victim.
