Interstate gang of auto lifters busted

With the arrest of Mohsin, Aslam and Shahzad, Delhi Police has and busted an interstate gang of auto lifters. Ten stolen cars, ECM including lock set and key of 12 cars, one ECM Car Scanner set, Vehicle opening Tools and 52 keys of other cars were also recovered from their possession.

The police received a tipoff on August 2 that some criminals in stolen car roaming in the area of Timar Pur. Cops swung into action and the raiding team rushed to that place. After some time, they noticed some suspected person in i20 car, three occupants were apprehende­d by the team. During search, some tools for opening cars, car scanner, 52 keys were found in the car.

During interrogat­ion, accused Mohsin disclosed that he initially visited Delhi with one Ashfaq for stealing stereo of the cars. In the meantime, he met one Guddu who motivated him to steal cars and to earn more money. Then, he started to steal cars along with Umaruddin, Aslam, Gulfam and Shehzad. They carried extra ECM/BCM/DCM, lock system and keys of different types of vehicles (Cars) like Innova Crysta, Innova, SUV, Fortuner, Eeco Sports, i20 etc which were already matched through censor.

“During investigat­ion, total 10 stolen cars were recovered from Meerut and Murad Nagar, UP from their instances. They further disclosed that they have previously involved in more than 500 cases of MV Theft and parts of vehicles,” said DCP North Nupur Prasad.
