Punch-wearing criminal gang arrested; 11 cases cracked

NEW DELHI: In a daring incident on the eve of Independen­ce day, the patrolling staff of Delhi police arrested a gang of robbers one of whom was also convicted for murder. These robbers also carried iron punch to attack their victims. South East Delhi police has arrested four of them and recovered robbed phones and wallets of victims. With their arrest, the police claimed to have worked out 11 cases of robbery.

The patrolling beat staff of Govindpuri chased and arrested a dreaded criminal Vicky alias Murderi, 30 years, a resident of Okhla and on his instance, his three other associates Yogesh Garg, a resident of Tughlakaba­d village and Sandeep, 24 years and Vikash were arrested and robbed Samsung mobile and cash have been recovered.

On August 14 at about 11:30 am, the victim Rajesh Kumar Mishra, a resident of Tuglakabad village, who works as an accountant in an MNC in East of Kailash was going to his office from his home and while passing through Tughlakaba­d jungle four persons overpowere­d the victim and punched him on face and forcibly robbed his high-end mobile and wallet.

“During sustained interrogat­ion, it revealed that all the accused persons are dreaded criminals and have previous involvemen­ts. Gang leader Vicky alias Murderi was previously arrested in a murder case and was convicted. He was released six months ago and after that he along with other dreaded criminals Yogesh, Sandeep and Vikash constitute­d a gang and they all started robbing people on the stretch near MB Road,” said DCP South East Chinmoy Biswal.
