Five-year-old girl molested in Ggn

GURUGRAM: Increase in the number of sexual crimes against the minors again came to the fore after a five-yearold was molested in Gurugram. The incident occurred in Manesar on Wednesday night. On the written complaint of the minor's sister, the accused identified as Akhilesh has been arrested by the Gurugram police.

According to the law enforcement officials, the accused was distantly related to the victim's family who belongs to Uttar Pradesh and had been residing in Manesar as tenants. The minor is presently admitted in government hospital where she is receiving treatment.

According to the doctors, the quick intervention prevented severe injuries to the five-year-old. Meanwhile, the case has been registered in Manesar woman police station under Section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POSCO).

According to the complainant, the accused used the garb of darkness to enter the victims' room and then took her to a desolate spot. When the elder sister of the victim came to inquire the wellbeing of her younger sibling, she found she was missing. To her horror, she then found her distant relative assaulting her. She then screamed and alerted the nearby neighbours and got Akhilesh arrested. “We have arrested the accused in the case. We are now gathering vital shreds of evidence to make sure that we have all the proofs to implicate him in the case,” said a senior police official.
