MURDER CASE FILED A month after woman’s body found in train

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police has registered a murder case after the month when they found woman's body lying on the train in Old Delhi railway station. The investigat­ors suspect that she was killed inside the train. According to police, the body was found on July 7, after which they preserved the body and a search was made to identify the woman. The missing complaints in nearby police stations were checked and also the other states were informed about the body.

The search for the cops finally came to an end on July 24 after her husband came to the police station and identified the woman. The postmortem conducted after her identifica­tion. “The body was found during checking. She was on the upper seat of the passenger's train which came from Muradabad to Old Delhi,” added the police officer. Later in August 2018, the city police got the report which confirmed that she was strangulat­ed to death. The police carried out their investigat­ion and they have got some evidence, which makes them suspect that the woman was murdered inside the train. During investigat­ion, the police found that a missing complaint was registered by the husband of the deceased at Uttam Nagar police station

Deputy Commission­er of Police (Railways) Dinesh Gupta said that they have registered the case under section 302 (murder) of IPC and they are close to cracking the case. However, the DCP did not comment further, claiming that there are some parts which are to be investigat­ed.

Meanwhile, the cops have scanned several dump data and also the CCTV of the localities in search of clues. Several persons have been questioned including the husband of the deceased in the case. The family members were also questioned to check whether the woman had told anything about some disputes.
