9 -yr-old girl raped in Vasant Kunj
Girl had gone to relieve herself when she was abducted and assaulted by the accused
NEW DELHI: A nine-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in South West Delhi's Vasant Kunj area. Police suspect that the girl might have gone to relieve herself when she was abducted and assaulted by the accused in an isolated place nearby Rangapahari area. The victim's family claimed that their girl is still receiving treatment. The incident came to light on Wednesday night when the police team received PCR call regarding the incident and the victim was admitted to the hospital.
The girl lives with her family in Vasant Kunj area and studies in class-iv. Her father is a vendor who sells things in a small shop. The victim's father told
Millennium Post that before the incident the girl was with him in the shop. “After some time, I found she was not in the shop; I thought my girl had left to relieve herself but soon I came to know from the residents that she was found on the road nearby the forested area,” said the father. He stated that the girl herself came nearby road and then locals spotted her and found her clothes were torn. Then they took the girl to her house from where she was taken to the hospital.
“We don't have the washroom in the house and many drug addicts roam around the toilets which are in the area,” said the father adding that the girl went to operation theatre and came out after one hour. “She had not talked after the incident my child is receiving treatment,” added the 30-year-old devastated father. The family hails from Uttar Pradesh and lives in Vasant Kunj area. The victim has two other sisters. The victim's mother also lends her hand at the shop. Police have not yet arrested the accused. “Teams have been formed and some suspects are being questioned,” said DCP Devendra Arya.
