AAP sounds the bugle for 2019 Lok Sabha elections
NEW DELHI: The office of Atishi Marlena, Aam Aadmi Party’s in-charge of East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, was inaugurated near Laxmi Nagar Metro station here on Monday amid much fanfare.
The programme was attended by hundreds of AAP volunteers and supporters, as well as legislators of the Delhi Assembly and five Cabinet ministers, including Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia,
The occasion was marked by a traditional ‘havan’ and ‘puja’ in the morning.
In the evening, the official inauguration ceremony took place.
Addressing an enthusiastic crowd, the Chief Minister said, “I am giving you, the people of Delhi, the responsibility of Delhi’s seven Lok Sabha seats. In return, I give you a promise of a beautiful, healthy and educated Delhi.”

Kejriwal also released a mission statement, titled ‘Why should we vote for AAP in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections?
In the statement, Kejriwal said that while everyone in Delhi is happy with his government and wants to vote for them, some do have this question.
“You elected seven BJP MPS in 2014 Lok Sabha elections. In 2015, you gave votes to Kejriwal to make him the Chief Minister. You tell me, who has worked for you? Kejriwal or the seven BJP MPS?” the statement noted.
It also listed the achievements of the AAP government, like cheaper electricity, free water, improvement in standards of government schools, curbs on fee hike by private schools, globally-appreciated mohalla clinics, free treatment and medicines among others.
