NEW DELHI: The government has so far received around 150 proposals from sugar mills like Bajaj Hindustan, seeking soft loan under a recently launched scheme for expansion and setting up of a new ethanol capacity, a senior Food Ministry official said on Monday.

In June, the government had announced a soft loan of Rs 4,440 crore to mills for creating ethanol capacity and also promised to bear an interest subvention of Rs 1,332 crore over a period of five years including moratorium period of one year. This was one of the measures taken to help cash-starved mills to clear huge dues. Indian firm Dynamatic Technologi­es manufactur­es critical components for H-47 Chinook, one of the world's most advanced multi-mission, heavy-lift transport helicopter­s.

"This delivery marks a significan­t milestone in the success of the Make in India programme and our commitment towards building indigenous manufactur­ing capabiliti­es," Pratyush Kumar, president of Boeing India said in a statement on Monday.

India is procuring 15 Chinook heavy-lift helicopter­s from Boeing.

"We establishe­d the Chinook production line in 2014 as part of our commitment to manufactur­e aerospace aerostruct­ures in India and Dynamatic has been our key partner in that journey. The future of advanced manufactur­ing in India looks promising," he said.

"Boeing and Dynamatic Technologi­es have announced the delivery of the 75th aft pylon and cargo ramp components for Boeing's H-47 Chinook heavy-lift helicopter," Boeing India said in the statement.

Dynamatic Technologi­es had delivered the first set of aft pylon and cargo ramp assemblies for the Chinook in February 2015. This first delivery was mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his inaugural address at the Aero India Exhibition in 2015, it said. NEW DELHI: The government plans to come out with a "special policy" for use of biofuel in the aviation sector, Union minister Nitin Gadkari said on Monday.

He was speaking at a function to mark India's first test flight partially powered by biofuel that landed here from Dehradun.

The 43-minute flight was operated by Spicejet with a Bombardier Q400 aircraft.

Gadkari said a "special policy" would be put in place for use of biofuel in the aviation sector.

A Cabinet note would be moved in this regard, the road transport minister said, adding that the use of biofuel would help in reducing oil import bill.

Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu said efforts are on to have a consumerfr­iendly, affordable and environmen­t-friendly aviation sector.

About Monday's test flight, Spicejet Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Singh said it was a "technology demonstrat­or". NEW DELHI: Steel minister Birender Singh unveiled corporate sports policy for Central Public Sector Enterprise­s (CPSES) on Monday here.

"A well-defined sports policy will strive to groom a sizeable number of 'Medal Hopes' for Olympics, being held in 2024," a government statement mentioned.

The policy will provide a framework for CPSES for their sports promotion—which will further discharge this responsibi­lity through infrastruc­tural and institutio­nal support for talent spotting, scholarshi­p, training, coaching, workshop, camp, visit, counsellin­g, special leave, and flexible working, the ministry emphasised.

Singh, who assumed the office after a week on the same day, called sports "the mirror of the economy", where people's effort can make a big difference like the country's GDP. "Not only the physical fitness, sports also enhanced the economic condition. Many have got government jobs and got a good opportunit­y to showcase their talent. These CPSES are formed to frame new policies and they are flexible in nature."

He further asserted that the new system aims to provide sportspers­ons proper logistics support, through a proper setup like Railways and defence.

An official statement mentioned, "CPSE will constitute a sports committee internal to fulfil the objectives. The Apex Sports Bodies and Unit level Sports Committees will have periodical meetings to review the planned activities and executed programmes to promote the policy."

It will encourage the rural sports, sports for differentl­y abled and activities for homemakers by sponsoring annual and periodic sports.
