Trio planning to rob bizman arrested during car-jacking bid
NEW DELHI: Before they could carry out robbery at a wealthy businessman’s residence in Dwarka, three armed criminals were nabbed on Saturday night.
The accused were arrested when they were spotted carrying out a recce of vehicles near a parking lot behind an under-construction in Dwarka Sector-14.
Police on Sunday said the accused have been identified as Mohammad Shaarik (22), Mohammad Shaakir (22) and Parvez Khan (23), and three
loaded illegal Pistols with six
live rounds were recovered from them.
“All the three arrested accused are school dropouts and childhood friends, aspiring to create a name in the crime world,” police said.
Deputy Commissioner
of Police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse stated that the accused revealed their plan of robbing some high-end cars and thereafter using them to rob a wealthy businessman in the area.
“Further investigation of the case is under progress and the accused are being interrogated to affect more recoveries and to ascertain their involvements in other cases, if any,” the senior police official told reporters on Sunday.
The arrest was made by he Anti-auto Theft Squad of Dwarka District, which has been carrying out night patrolling and gathering intelligence about robbers and car-jackers, through a network of informers to prevent such crimes in the Dwarka area.
