IIT man is brain behind doorstep services

- SAYANTAN GHOSH

NEW DELHI: Gopal Mohan, an alumnus of IIT Delhi is the man behind the whole doorstep delivery of services scheme. Mohan, a close aide of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has been a core member of his IT team.

“In the year 2015, we started the work on this and it was a

long journey indeed,”mohan told the Millennium Post. He explained that after coming to power Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal asked his team to come up with an idea which will reduce the pain of people to stand in

long queues.

"I thought of making all the services online and we did that. Then we saw that only 10 percent people are using the online services," he said. When the team did the research on why not much people are using the online services they found that most of the people are not tech savvy and not confident on the online services. "Then I informed the CM regarding the issues and he called for a brainstorming session. There we discussed various plans and came up with this plan. The CM approved it and asked us to develop the plan," said Mohan. Gopal Mohan

As a technology freak man Mohan thought that it's possible that not all people are tech savvy but now we have mobile and the government can hire people who are tech-savvy and send them to houses. "Mobile is an incredible thing and you can do everything by a mobile hence I thought of a scheme where a mobile will provide all the services and that's how developed this scheme," he said.

Post, Mohan explained that how at every step of the development of the project he faced obstructions from the officials and how many times they rejected the proposal. "It was a tough time but we convinced everyone and I think every political party if they do not think about the politics then they will support the scheme," he said.
