‘AAP lent its in-principle support to protest against fuel price hike’

- OUR CORRESPONDENT

NEW DELHI: AAP lent its inprinciple support to the protest against the rising prices of petroleum products, noted the party in a statement. “AAP lent it's in-principle support to the protest against the rising fuel prices. However, this should not be in any manner seen as support for Congress. The price rise in Petrol, Diesel, and LPG has a spiralling effect on the prices of all the commodities making the lives miserable for people. AAP leaders, MPS, and MLAS joined the protest by various opposition parties at Jantar Mantar and Rajghat in Delhi,” the statement said.

It added that the Aam Aadmi Party is of the clear view that all opposition parties must unite and force the Modi Government to reverse its antipeople policies which are solely responsible for price rise, particularly the unprecedented rise in prices of Petrol and Diesel. However, the Congress cannot be the Umbrella under which all opposition parties are comfortable. Congress has to shun its big brother and unreasonable attitude towards other parties. No political party in India is subservient to Congress & it must bear this fact in mind," the party noted in a statement.

Senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh along with party leaders shared the dais with Congress president Rahul Gandhi, former PM Manmohan Singh and leaders of other opposition parties at the national Capital's Ramlila Grounds. AAP leader Atishi, who is party's Lok Sabha candidate from East Delhi, is going to join the protest at Jantar Mantar along with party MLAS and senior leaders.
