Godman booked for rape, molestation

NEW DELHI: A self-styled godman Ashu Bhai Guruji has been booked by the Delhi Police on charges of raping a woman and also molesting her daughter in South Delhi’s Hauz Khas area.

No arrests have been made in the case so far. The woman in her complaint told the police that it was not just the godman but also his son who sexually exploited her and later on asked her to bring her daughter as well to the ashram.

The woman told the police she had gone to wish him on the occasion of Diwali at the Rohini Ashram when he along with his associate sexually assaulted her.

Ashu’s manager Ravi Shankar gave her water laced with sedatives following which she lost consciousness.

When she woke up she told the accused that she would narrate her ordeal to everyone but the accused told her that he would eliminate her entire family if she does so.

The woman further told the police that in 2017 his son Samar asked her to bring her daughter as well.

She had also complained about it to guruji who instead told her that she has been their slave and so will her daughter be.

On one occasion, he even thrashed her and asked her to get her daughter along.

The woman told the police that she knew the guruji since 2008 when her daughter (6) had stomach ache issues. The accused man in front of the mother would remove her daughter’s clothes and massage her which even gave a relief to her daughter.
