Four robbers who hid blades under tongue to rob passengers arrested

NEW DELHI: They travelled

like passengers but they had deadly blades in their mouth that were hard to detect but easy to use when they found the victims alone on isolated roads. The four arrested men used to hire autos in the city, injure the driver badly on after overpowering him and then used the same looted auto to rob others on the way.

The Delhi Police has arrested the gang members of infamous Raja Gang from Delhi Cant area. The accused criminals have been identified as Salahuddin, Ishtiyak Ahmed, Insaf and Shahzada. With their arrest, two small tempos, four mobile phones along with weapon of offence blades and knives were recovered from their possession.

The matter came to light when on September 6, a man was admitted to AIIMS trauma center with injuries with a sharp edged weapon. On inquiry, it was revealed that he was an auto driver and was

looted by four men who hired his auto and attacked him on a secluded spot.

When they reached the RTR flyover, he was overpowered by the four men and attacked with blades which were hidden in their mouth. The men then robbed his auto threw him outside. It was further revealed that the accused also committed robbery in the area of PS Vasant Kunj (South) on the same night with same TSR and took away mobile phone and purse of the victim after causing him injuries.

Police then received a secret input that the robbers are seen in the area of Andheria mod, Mehrauli. They were arrested after a chase by the police team.

“All the accused used to hire TSR as a commuter and robbed the TSR seeing a lonely place.

Later, they used the robbed TSR to commit robbery after giving lift to other passengers in different parts of Delhi. The accused used to hide surgical blades in their mouth and used to attack the passenger to commit robbery. Before journey, they used to consume narcotics substance and during their travel they acted as strangers,” said DCP South West Devender Arya.
