- ABHAY SINGH

NEW DELHI: A day after a 23-year-old youth ran over his vehicle on pavement killing two homeless persons in the West Delhi area, the accused showed no remorse for killing innocent people sleeping on the street. The accused told the police that he was under work pressure.

Working as an accountant in a software company, the accused Devesh cried during the interrogation, claimed the police sources. They further said that he was not giving clear answers. Sometimes, he told his investigators that he had work pressure.” During interrogation, he told us that he was not a good son for his parents, who always supported him,” said sources.

When asked where he was going at the time of the incident, the accused told the cops that he was going to meet her sister as she had the flight on Sunday.

“The accused had taken liquor from the mall and then drank it. Even after committing the crime, he showed no remorse,” said one investigator.

Ram Singh who was one of the survivors told the cops that he along with his three others were sleeping on the footpath in front of ESI hospital. At about 4:30 am on Sunday when he got up to smoke, a Honda Civic car driven by the accused crushed them in which two of his colleagues died and two were injured.

The victim had come to Delhi a few months ago. The policemen are still finding the family of the homeless who died in the accident. A case under section 304 (Punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of IPC has been registered at Rajouri Garden police station and further investigation is being carried out.
