- OUR CORRESPONDENT

GURUGRAM: The traders of Kosli in Rewari heeded to the call of villagers and observed the bandh on Wednesday to protest against the gang-rape of the 19-year-old girl.

The protestors not only condemned the gang-rape incident but also demanded the immediate arrest of the two accused, who have now been absconding for over a week.

The bandh was called in the maha panchayat by 25 villages. In the panchayat, which took place on Tuesday, it was also decided that there will be no lawyers in the village who will come forward to represent the accused.

The Haryana Police have, as of now arrested, three people in the case namely Nishu, Dr Sanjeev, and Deen Dayal. While Nishu is one of the accused in the case, the other two have been accused in betting the case. It was in Deen Dayal’s house where the rape took place.

When the three accused were sexually assaulting the teenager, they found that her health was getting worse.

Fearing that it may result in the girl losing her life, they called Dr Sanjeev to treat her and after the treatment, the three threatened the doctor to be silent about the incident to avoid any physical harm.

On September 12, after abducting the 19-year-old former CBSE topper from Rewari, the accused took her to the house where Nishu along with Manish and Pankaj committed the heinous crime. As of now, Manish and Pankaj are still absconding.
