NOIDA: Following the incident where an advocate was allegedly thrashed inside a police station of Noida, an FIR was on Tuesday registered against four police constables and the director of Cleo County real estate builder group.

Over a hundred advocates have been staging a protest against the incident over last couple of days, demanding action against those responsible. Advocate Mahendra Singh Yadav was allegedly thrashed by a police constable for reportedly distributing pamphlets outside Cleo County project in Sector-121 of Noida.

The pamphlets stated that the builder’s group has illegally acquired advocate’s land. The developer thus asked the advocate to refrain from distributing the pamphlets as it affected their business.

Later, the realtor called police who took the advocate to the police station, after which personnel at Garhi Chowkandi police post thrashed him.

Yadav’s younger brother shot a video of the act, which soon went viral, and lawyers of the district and session court at Surajpur in Greater Noida protested in the court premises to demand justice for Yadav.

On Tuesday, police registered an FIR against four police constables of Uttar Pradesh Police and the developer of Cleo County group in connection of the case.

“Following the incident, police have booked four constable including four police constables and two directors of Cleo County builder’s group in connection with the case and further investigations are underway,” a senior police officer said.

Police had earlier sent six police constables of Garhi Chowkhandi police station to police lines in connection with the matter.
