Man who raped daughter over two years held in Noida
NOIDA: A 46-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping his minor daughter for the past couple of years in Phase-iii area of Noida. Police on Thursday said the incident was reported by the victim, following which a complaint was filed and the arrest was made.
According to the complaint filed by the 16-year-old victim, the accused had been sexually abusing her for past few years.
He also used to thrash her if she refused to give in to his advances.
On Wednesday evening, the girl gathered courage to run away and reached a nearby police station where she narrated her ordeal.
“The accused man is a native of Bihar and used to
live in a rented house in Chhijarsi village. He is a daily waged
labourer and a drug addict. The victim has claimed that she had been raped by the father for past couple of years,” Akhilesh Tripathi, SHO, Phase-iii police station said on Thursday.
“Also she alleged that he did not allow her to get admission in the school,” he added.
Cops said that immediately after the victim’s complaint, an FIR was registered and the accused was arrested from his house.
“Based on the victim’s claims and the complaint lodged by her, we have booked the accused under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of Protection of Child against Sexual Offence Act. He was arrested and been sent to the jail after producing before the court on Thursday,” Tripathi said.
The senior officer further said that the girl has been sent for medical examination, while further investigation is ongoing in the case.
Sources said the victim is the only daughter and has two younger brothers. Her mother works as a domestic help in the same area.
