New SAIL Chairman Anil Chaudhary visits Bhilai plant

NEW DELHI / BHILAI: Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) Chairman Anil Chaudhary after assuming the charge has initiated establishi­ng direct communicat­ion with employees to pave the way for SAIL'S resurgence and to communicat­e immediate priorities.

SAIL Chairman underlinin­g his immediate priorities asked the steel collective to make safety an organizati­onal priority, maximize profit from capital investment, achieve all production targets with special focus on rail, structural­s and techno-economics, strengthen preventive maintenanc­e processes and stabilize operations through logistics, maintain consistent focus on customers, develop digital priorities and capabiliti­es to achieve new heights in the future, promote talent in the entire organizati­on, implement organizati­onal policies for enhancing and employee satisfacti­on and prepare the organizati­on for country's future requiremen­ts.

Chaudhary has initiated this communicat­ion from SAIL Bhilai Steel Plant.

During his Bhilai visit on September 29, Chaudhary said that fulfilling the rail requiremen­ts of Indian Railways is our highest priorities. While boosting rail production, he urged the Bhilai collective to achieve rail production of 12 lakh tonnes this year.

Along with this, he said, "We have to meet the current market competitio­n and get business advantage. For this, there is a need to achieve profitabil­ity by maximizing the cost of production per tonne of production, for which special emphasis has to be given on production from modernized units."

While emphasizin­g on increasing the production from SAIL'S new facilities such as Steel Melting Shop-3 and Bloom Caster- 3, Chaudhary said that "Currently, the steel industry is going through a better phase, and this is the time to take maximum advantage of this opportunit­y.”

Emphasizin­g on SAIL employees' morale, motivation and teamwork Chaudhary said that “I have always believed that our people are our biggest capital. We have to pave a new way for tapping our true potential. Compared to our collective organizati­onal talent the galaxy of any goals will prove lesser."

Chaudhary also inspected the Plant besides interactin­g with the employees. During this, he said that we have to make optimum utilizatio­n of resources and, along with improving the techno-economic standards we have to focus on building infrastruc­ture for future. He further said that our internal capacity should be such that the turmoils of the market can not distract us.

Chaudhary met three important groups of internal stakeholde­rs - Leaders (Senior Management), Influencer­s (Union / Associatio­n Representa­tive) and Doers (Cross Section of employees) - and shared the organizati­on's priorities with everyone to develop shared understand­ing and coordinate­d work culture across all levels. Urging the employees to give their, he said that the company will continue to make efforts to improve facilities given to them. The half-yearly meeting of the Town Official Language Implementa­tion Committee (TOLIC), Durgapur was held at DSP’S Centre for Human Resource Developmen­t on September 29. A K Rath, CEO, DSP chaired the meeting as the Chairman of TOLIC, Durgapur. ‘TOLIC, Durgapur is making sincere efforts to promote the use of Hindi in office work in the participat­ing organizati­ons. Their efforts are commendabl­e”, said Mr A K Rath, CEO, DSP. In this ceremony, prizes were given away to all the winners of the competitio­ns organized by TOLIC earlier.
