NDMC area a showpiece of the city, says Baijal
NEW DELHI: Terming the New Delhi area as a showcase of the city, Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal has said that the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has set an example by transforming the New Delhi area into a global benchmark by implementing various digital infrastructure for civic amenities to citizens and other innovative projects like Wi-fi, Smart Polls, FTTH, elearning, ehospital under the Smart City Mission etc. He was speaking after inaugurating the Common Services Centre (CSC) Kiosk, the first in the New Delhi, which had been commissioned by NDMC in association with Ministry of Information Technology at Minto Road, near Railway Bridge on Tuesday.
Member of Parliament, Meenakshi Lekhi said that NDMC has always strived hard for adopting latest technology and innovative ideas for the citizens of New Delhi area by providing them with digital infrastructure.
NDMC Chairman Naresh Kumar said that it was a joint venture of NDMC and the Ministry of Information Technology through Common Services Centre e-governance Services India Ltd. The Chairman informed that the NDMC set up another four such centres in different localities of the New Delhi area by the end of this financial year.
Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik said that the services in the Hi-tech Police Facilitation Kiosk would be extended to the public 24 x 7 hours and it would be manned by a dedicated police facilitation officer along with the supporting staff. The interactive panels with internet facility for E-FIR facility would be made available in the kiosk for public.
