The three accused men in police custody NEW DELHI: In separate incidents, a man strangled his wife to death in central Delhi while a vegetable vendor was found murdered inside a house in north west Delhi residence.

Police on Sunday said that 23-year-old Kamil was arrested for allegedly strangling to death in Kamla Market area, adding that Kamil had walked into the Kamla Market police station in the early hours of Sunday and confessed to the murder.

He told cops that his 22-year-old wife’s body was lying in their second floor residence.

A senior police officer said that a team went to the house and found the woman’s body which had already turned blue, adding that the murder took place on Friday.

“It was learnt that he had killed her on Friday and kept sitting with the body on Saturday, as he was in a state of confusion over whether to dump it somewhere or confess his crime,” the officer said.

He added that Kamil told police that he had a quarrel with his wife on Friday over her alleged friendship with two men.

He admitted that he beat her up and strangled her later, the officer added.

The couple had been married for three years and Kamil worked as a peon at a university in Delhi.

At the time of the incident, the couple’s minor daughter was sleeping, police said.

In the second case, police said the body of Sajjan Paswan, a vegetable vendor in Azadpur Mandi, was found at a residence in north west Delhi.

Police said they were informed at around 7 am Sunday about Paswan’s body lying at the residence of one Vinod Sah in Ravi Das colony of Sarai Pipal Thala.

After reaching the spot, cops found that Paswan had been attacked with brick and iron rod, police said. Police said that Paswan allegedly had an affair with Sah’s wife, which could have been the cause of his murder.

Sah, his wife and four children were found missing from the house, and cops are on the lookout for Sah to ascertain the exact sequence of events.
