NEW DELHI: Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday praised his government, in terms of development and transparency. Marking four years of his Bjp-led government, Khattar said: “We have taken our governance in a different direction than the previous governments, as we tried to provide a balanced governance to the people.”

He further said that out of the total 176 promises made in the BJP election manifesto, 160 have been fulfilled.

While addressing the mediapersons at the Haryana Bhawan in national capital, he emphasised on the state government’s decision on “graft-free” and “transparent” administration, merit in government jobs and efficient financial management as highlights of the tenure of his government. “I have never been

a political person. I have always believed in the service of the people. It helped me work in the right direction,” Khattar added.

He said that hunger for power is only ‘power’, but the requirement of power is to serve people. “We do not do ‘votebank’ politics; many decisions of our incumbent government may hurt many. But the welfare of people and their interest is our prime preference,” the Haryana chief minister added.

As many as 31 new laws have been amended, and many laws have been re-amended in his tenure. He also handed over cards of ‘Ayushmaan Bharat: Haryana Health Protection Mission (PMJAY)’ to media persons during the programme, where accredited and recognized media persons in the state would also be covered under the scheme under which they would be provided health cover of Rs 5 lakh per annum per family. This would enable them to get medical treatment facility in any recognized government or private hospital in Haryana as well in other states where the scheme is applicable. 265 hospitals including 83 governments and 182 private have been registered in the state under the scheme.
